FELIPE RENDON ECHEVERRY

Felipe is an Anthropologist with a BA from the University of Antioquia in Colombia, and an MA in Regional Development from The College of the Frontera Norte in Mexico, specializing in agribusiness, family farming, global value chains, and armed conflict. In 2019 he published his first book “The Promotion of Value Chains. Palm Oil Agroindustry in Maria la Baja, Colombia.” Felipe worked for UNICEF in collaboration with the National Institute of the Evaluation of Education (INEE) on the project Panorama Educativo, analyzing the state of education for indigenous and afro-descendent populations in Mexico. He is currently an arborist and owner of a landscape business in Austin, Texas. He is the founder of wilderness retreat project Healing Mountain, alongside his wife Melissa Gail Klein Rendon with a mission to bring people back into touch with their love of the wild. Together, they have supported the prayers at the Paradise Sundance since 2021.
