ARIGATO FARMS
Arigato is the Japanese word for “thank you”. With our co-founder being a native Japanese spiritual elder, the permacultural and educational arm of the Lakota Small Farms is thus named in dedication to the power of gratitude.
Whilst adopting regenerative practices in working with the land and livestock, Arigato Farms hosts various farming teachers and experts to share their knowledge and wisdom with the youth, aspiring farmers, herbalists, and healers.
Based in New Mexico, Arigato Farms encompasses a permacultural and biodynamic food forest, horse sanctuary, and animal farm. The farms, gardens, and greenhouses are tended to by the residents and volunteers of the Arigato ecovillage where the ethos of food sovereignty is governed by the organic cultivation of medicinal and ancestral foods for the community as well as crops for sale and livestock feed.
